Rags to Righteous: The Power of God in Romans

In a culture where things seem very uncertain, the Apostle Paul points us towards the only enduring and unchanging reality that we can cling to – Jesus Christ and the Gospel of Grace. It is this gospel (“Good News”) that has the power both to save us and to change us.

As the pandemic continues to affect every aspect of our lives today, have our priorities shifted? Did 2020 reveal hidden issues in your life and in the church? 1 Timothy is a source of guidance for us as we contemplate the changes brought about by the past year.

We can never exhaust the meaning and the impact of the incarnation. The news that God has come to dwell with us brings with it a new status, a new hope, and a new family for those who believe. Though the people of God had waited in darkness, in the fullness of time, God sent the Savior in the most humble and wonderful way imaginable.

In our series on Genesis, we unpack the reality-changing, eternally-bearing relevancy of four words: “In the beginning, God . . .” Either they are true, or they are not. If false, then we need to get our heads out of the clouds and start living for the here and now. If true, however, God is going to call us to shape the most basic areas of our life around Him and who He reveals Himself to be. There is no more important task that we face as 21st Century Christians.
